The Prince's Wedding |
|
When Prince Siddhartha reached the age of sixteen, King Suddhodana
arranged for him to marry his cousin, Princess Yasodara, whose father was
King Supbhabuddha. King Suddhodana ruled over
the Sakya tribe in the city called Gabilabahd. King Supbhabuddha of Goliyavongse
lineage ruled Dhevadaha. The two cities, Gabilabahd and Dhevadaha were divided
by the Rohinee River. The royal family members of these two dynasties had
cross-wedded since their inception. |
