Loy Krathong
Loy Krathong Day is on the full moon of November. The meaning of Loy Krathong is 'floating flowers', and is a day of offering gratitude to the Goddess of the river. Small boats fashioned in the shape of lotus flowers are decorated inside with flowers, candles, incense and other offerings.
People in Thailand gather along the banks of rivers, canals or even ponds to launch their lotus vessels, petitioning the Goddess to remove sorrow and bring joy and happiness in the coming year.
